IMPERIAL PIPE CORPORATION

Thermolene Pipe
Advantages & Applications

Advantages

• Savings - No other piping material matches polythylene's economy on labour and equipment. Most of the work is done out of the trench ... resulting in savings.
• Lightweight - 70 to 90% lighter than steel or concrete.
• Chemically resistant - Excellent resistance to most chemicals, acids.
• Flow - The extremely smooth interior and the petroleum base prevent mineral build-up or scaling.
• Stress crack resistance - Excellent, no failure at fittings, weights or upon burial.
• Joining - Butt fusion assemblies; solid, the same strength as pipe wall.
- Flange assemblies used for adapting to other piping materials, valves, etc.
• Toughness - Cold increases its toughness; ideal for cold climates.
• Flexibility - Remains flexible at cold temperatures, field bends to a radius of 35 times the pipe diameter.

Applications

• River crossing
Bridge crossing Tunnels
Pipe relining
- Ideally suited for applications. Pipe's flexibility and fusion joints permit one long continuous pipeline adapting to riverbed, bridge deck etc.
• Municipal - Water distribution, gas and sewer colection, sewage treatment and power stations.
• Industrial - Plating works, metals, pulp and paper.
• Mining - Coal, copper and precious metals.
• Water - Potable, intakes, cooling condensate, irrigation, subsurface drainage, and deionized.
• Slurries - Fly ash disposal, tailings, coal, sand and minerals.
• Chemical - Pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, petrochemicals and basic chemicals.
• Oil and gas - Production, collection and watering systems.
• Construction - Dredging, dewatering and water supply.
• Insulated systems - For cold weather installations.
• Sewage - Collection, sludge, outfalls, force mains and sewer relining.
