Sectional Steel Insulated Overhead Doors

Sectional Doors - Doors shall be of Thermalex® 2000, Models U100, R112g, V130G-Series TX380, TX450 as manufactured by Upwardor Corp., 1094 Westport Cres., Mississauga, Ontario, L5T 1G1, Canada.

Sections - Shall be roll-formed continuous steel sheets, corrosion resistant Z275ASTM, stucco embosses, and ribbed for added strength. Exterior steel skins shall be prefinished in white or brown with white or brown with white interior skin. Paint finish shall be of Polyester. TX450 door sections shall have a Tongue and Grove Joint system with dual fin weatherstrip between section joints. TX380 door sections shall have a shiplap joint design also with dual fin weatherstrip between section joints. Door sections shall be thermally broken and chemically sealed and bonded for added weather resistance. sections shall be insulated with CFC free polyurethane, foamed in place by means of a Continuous Process. Interior skin of each TX450 section shall be reinforced by two continuous 32mm (1 1/4) wide steel strips, 20 gauge, at top and bottom of section, to provide for mounting of full hinges, TX380 sections shall have one continuous strip hinge reinforcement top and bottom. Thermal R Factors shall be: 14.1 for 380mm (1 1/2) thickness, and 16.3 for 450mm (1 3/4) thickness.

Glazing - (Model R112G, V130G) shall be of 3mm clear glass (or tempered), fitted in sealed units with removable moldings for easy replacement.

Hardware - Upwardor® Corp. hardware shall be of galvanized steel, G90 ASTM, with gauge thickness to suit applications and shall be in accordance with the  drawings and specifications.

Tracks - Shall be 51mm (2") minimum 14 gauge, or 76 mm (3") minimum,12 gauge. All vertical tracks shall be bolted and assembled to a continuous 51mm (2") x 102mm (4") vertical angle, minimum 14 gauge, or to jam brackets, 11 gauge, and shall be totally adjustable. Horizontal tracks shall have a maximum radius of 381mm (15") with a continuous 12 gauge angle, 38mm (1 1/2") x 51mm (2"), welded to the horizontal tracks.

Hinges - Roller carriers shall be minimum 13 gauge galvanized steel to suit door width. ( 16ft. wide doors and over: specify double end hinges, along with strut bar reinforcement.) Rollers shall be of 51mm (2")  or 76mm (3") diameter, 10 ball bearing with harden raceway and cold rolled 11mm (7/16") x 114mm (4 1/2) stem. Long stem, 203 mm (8"), rollers, shall be supplied with double end hinges.

Torsion Springs - Shall be oil tempered with 10,000 standard cyclage (specify higher cyclage if required to maximum 100,000 cycles) fitted on a continuous 25mm (1") hollow, 14 gauge tube shaft, or on a 25mm (1") cold rolled solid shaft, keyed, and mounted on ball bearings, supported by heavy gauge gusett plates. (Counter weight system available on request).

Cable Drums - Shall suit the type of lift required and be able to withstand maximum cycle requirements, Cables shall be of galvanized aircraft grade, 7 x 19 construction, designed to suit door weight at a safety factor of 8 to 1.

Note: When specifying Chain Hoist or shaft Electrical operator on standard lift doors, specify solid shaft, spreader bars, and pusher springs.

Work By Others : All framing work, spring pads, frame extensions, caulking and electrical wiring, shall be under other divisions.
