With genuine Accoloy Kuplex II component parts you receive a certificate of proof test and assembly issued with each sling shipment. This certifies that all Accoloy Kuplex II component parts have been manufactured under rigid industry and military approved standards. In addition it certifies that the sling has been assembled by an authorized distributor using genuine Accoloy Kuplex II component parts.

This test certificate certifies that your Dominion Registered Chain Sling has been proof tested to at least twice its rated working load limit. It specifies the Working Load Limit in pounds and degrees from horizontal. The certificate also states the terms of the Dominion warranty.

The Working Load Limit:

The "working load limit" is the maximum load in pounds which at any time or under any condition should ever be applied to chain or a sling component, even when chain is new and in the same condition it was when it left the factory, and when the load is evenly applied in direct tension to a straight length of chain.

The Proof Test:

The "proof test" is a term designating the tensile test applied to a chain during or subsequent to the process of manufacture for the sole purpose of detecting defects in the material or manufacture. It is the load in pounds which the chain has withstood, in the condition and at the time it left the factory, under a test in which the load has been applied in direct tension to a straight length of chain or component with a uniform rate of speed on a standard chain testing machine. The actual loads applied vary with the size and type of chain or component being tested but are sufficient to provide the necessary proof test.

Breaking Load Minimum:

"Minimum break load" is a design criteria and must not be used in lifting calculations. It is the minimum load in pounds at which chain, in the condition it would leave the factory, has been found by experience to break, under tests in which the load is applied in direct tension to a straight length of chain with a uniform rate of speed on a standard chain testing machine.

The Registered Sling Metal Identification Tag.

Every Accoloy Welded Sling bears a metal identification tag. It provides five important pieces of information:

First - Dominion Manufactured Sling, Second - Sling Serial Number, Third - Working Load Limit at lift angle, Fourth - reach, feet & inches. Fifth - grade; This information is needed by the user and for inspection or should the chain sling ever need servicing.
