THE SHEAVE
Note the groove form with proper line support and gently rounded lips to prevent line chaffing when fleet angles etc. are present. Note the groove is completely machined to proper line size. Note the dense martensitic structure clearly outlined by the etch. This flame hardened surface in the wear area of the sheave always presents a smooth, uncorrugated, proper size groove face to the line. Sheaves 14" diameter and over flame hardened in groove to minimum 35 Rockwell "C'. Smaller sheaves can be flame hardened on special order.
