Step 1 - Mark rope to indicate proper amount to insert into socket. This is same as the "F" dimension shown on Model S-501 Open Swage Sockets.

Step 2 - Insert rope into socket and Swage using procedure outline on Swaging Methods. Do not swage beyond machined area of shank.

Step 1 - Slide 505 sleeve down the rope. Unlay the wire rope, for IWRC rope 3 strands and core in one group and 3 strand in the other group, for FC rope unlay with 3 strands in each group and cut away fibre core.

Step 2 - Cross and lay the one group of strands into the other group of strands making a natural interweaving. Making sure the end of each group of strands will reach beyond point A.

Step 3 - Collect tails on outside of rope dispersing equally and slide sleeve over tails and as far up towards eye as possible.

Step 4 - Swage the sleeve following the procedure outlined on Swaging Methods. After swaging, sleeve then can be stamped as outlined on the next page.

Step 1 - Insert rope into button or ferrule until there is a slight extension at the opposite end.
