EYE TERMINATION WITH FLEMISH SPLICE AND S-505 STANDARD SLEEVE
![]() Step 1 - Slide 505 sleeve down the rope. Unlay the wire rope, for IWRC rope 3 strands and core in one group and 3 strand in the other group, for FC rope unlay with 3 strands in each group and cut away fibre core. | ![]() Step 2 - Cross and lay the one group of strands into the other group of strands making a natural interweaving. Making sure the end of each group of strands will reach beyond point A. |
![]() Step 3 - Collect tails on outside of rope dispersing equally and slide sleeve over tails and as far up towards eye as possible. | ![]() Step 4 - Swage the sleeve following the procedure outlined on Swaging Methods. After swaging, sleeve then can be stamped as outlined on the next page. |
